Oh. My. God.
The movie starts off a little bit slow, but when it takes off, it really takes off. Vaughn plays a former boxer turned drug runner, but after a drug deal goes south he ends up in prison. While in prison, his pregnant wife gets kidnapped, and is threatened to be murdered if he does not kill someone in cell block 99.
I honestly had no idea what I was renting when I picked this up today, and what I got was the most brutally violent movie I think I have ever watched. Not only was it violent beyond words but it was possibly Vince Vaughn at his finest. That’s right, Dodgeball comedy legend Vince Vaughn’s best work is one a dark violent drama. This movie makes me think that dying via John Wick’s pencil would be a great way to go, compared to what Vaughn does to people in this movie.
